The most obvious features of this powerful breed are its very long, oval shaped head with no stop; small triangular eyes; thin, erect ears; and tight fitting coat over a large boned and muscular physique.

A strong dog needing to work off energy and requiring free exercise. Will take as much exercise as anyone can give. Ideal for the country, not a town dog unless daily safe exercise in a park is available. It may not get on well with other dogs.

Fearless, determined. As a breed they are generally placid.
