• Appearance

  The powerful active Bullmastiff can easily be distinguished from the Mastiff by its smaller size and more compact face. The American Bullmastiff tends to be more mastiff like than its British counterpart. Originally, dark-coloured, but today fawns and reds are popular.

• Characteristics

  This short haired powerfully built dog requires little special grooming; regular brushing, particularly when moulting. Will go fat if not given a certain amount of exercise, but exercise should not be overdone. The Bullmastiff will only accept strangers if they are introduced to them by someone they trust.

• Temperament

  Loyal, fearless. These dogs are very protective of their family and other household pets.
