Royal Visit To SARDA
Prince Edward KG GCVO, the Earl of Wessex, visited Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team on Tuesday 7th February 2012. The team undertook a number of demonstrations for Prince Edward , including medical, rope rescue and command and control. As part of the visit, Prince Edward met the teams two SARDA search dogs, Mij and Floss with their handers Iain and Alison Nicholson, as being a dog owner himself he was interested in the training and work undertaken by the dogs.
Accompanying Prince Edward were Lord Shutteworth KCVO, Lord Lieutenant for Lancashire, the Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Wyre Borough Council, and Chief Superintendant Richard Bayly of Lancashire Police.
Great to see that our Oscar badges were proudly worn by the team. Now we need to find out what the Royal Corgis are being fed?
Oscar Pet Foods feed all graded dogs free of charge. Would you like to contribute too? SARDA handlers give up their own time in order to be there for us. Donations are vital, however large or small. Contact SARDA England or SARDA Wales to make a donation or find out about fund raising.
