New OSCAR Franchisee in the Spotlight
Oscar Franchisee: Amy Seward
Which area does your OSCAR business cover?
Walsall, Aldridge, Clayhanger, Pelsall and Rushall
What was your career before OSCAR?
I have an A Level in business studies and have been a Museum Enabler at Birmingham Museums Trust
What made you decide on a career change to run your own OSCAR Business?
I have a Master's degree in History of Art and currently have a part-time job working in a historic house, as well as similar voluntary roles. Whilst I enjoy all of this I have struggled to find another job that fits in with what I am already doing. Starting my own business seemed like the best option. I have always loved animals so decided to go into a line of work which involved working with and helping animals and becoming an Oscar Franchisee has enabled me to do this whilst continuing with my current responsibilities
What was it that made you choose an OSCAR franchise business?
An interesting and believable product, relateable brand name with training and support from headquarters but being able to use my own approach and style
What has been your favourite part of your OSCAR training so far?
I have really enjoyed learning about how to engage with local shows and carnivals as a franchisee. I did my first show as soon as I started Oscars and I had my trainer, Liz, with me for the day. I felt a lot of pride when I had the stall all set up and was very excited to start talking to people about their pets and the benefits of Oscars. Having my trainer with me gave me a lot of confidence and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I can't wait for my next show!
