New OSCAR Franchise in the Spotlight: Fleur Brown
New OSCAR Franchisee in the Spotlight
Oscar Franchisee: Fleur Brown
Which area does your OSCAR business cover?
Hurworth-on-Tees, Darlington, Newton Aycliffe, Chilton, Ferryhill, Heighington and West Cornforth.
What was your career before OSCAR?
I have wanted to run my own OSCAR business for some time. I like the idea of working for myself without being totally by myself and getting away from all the 'office politics'. After all, there is more to life! The opportunity arose and so it was now or never!
What made you decide on a career change to run your own OSCAR Business?
For me OSCAR stood out from the rest and I know first hand from being a customer how brilliant the products are.
What was it that made you choose an OSCAR franchise business?
I have a wealth of experience & skills built over the years with different companies, from banking to manufacturing, education, local authority & the Police. Mainly, my roles have been in customer service, sales & administration.
What has been your favourite part of your OSCAR training so far?
I thoroughly enjoyed the training at Head Office and meeting everyone. Also meeting and talking to other franchisees as well as now meeting my customers and their pets. There is a lot to take in, but knowing that you have support from everyone is reassuring.
What pets do you have?
I sadly lost my beloved German Short Haired Pointer (Bailey) in July 2015. I do hope to get another GSP in the next year or so. But I do have Button – the extremely lazy Syrian Hamster.
Tell us a funny tale about your pet
I have plenty of tales about Bailey. From the time he decided in puppy training classes to be the only dog not sitting by their owner. Instead he was running loops around everyone with a long white training lead in his chops (this was not his lead I hasten to add). Needless to say the nice white lead did not remain so! There was also the time he chased a pheasant and failed to spot the drainage ditch, which he fell into and had to be helped out of!!
If you could be any pet, what would you be and why?
I would have to be a pampered pooch! All those treats, walks and snoozes on the sofa – the life of luxury.
