New OSCAR Franchise in the Spotlight: Lynette Higgins
New OSCAR Franchisee in the Spotlight
Oscar Franchisee: Lynette Higgins
Which area does your OSCAR business cover?
Bridgnorth and Ludlow in Shropshire and its surrounding rural villages and hamlets. Plus, the outskirts of Wolverhampton.
What was your career before OSCAR?
Redundancy has allowed me time to rethink my future and aspirations. I want to continue working, but I want to do it on my own terms! Running an OSCAR business should allow me the flexibility to do this. As a pet lover, I also see this as a chance to mix business and pleasure. It feels the right thing to do!
What made you decide on a career change to run your own OSCAR Business?
OSCARS branding and internet site is stronger, more professional and eye catching than the competition's internet site. When considering the products as a customer, OSCAR is the brand and service I would choose and so it was either an OSCAR franchise or none at all for me.
What was it that made you choose an OSCAR franchise business?
Just over 12 months ago I took voluntary redundancy from the Department of Work & Pensions, where I held the position of Category Manager and Commercial Business Partner. I have experience in Procurement, Contract Management, Training, Marketing and Sales.
What pets do you have?
Fred, Golden Retriever, 2 years
Oliver, Black Moggy Cat, 3 years
Glowie, Tabby Moggy Cat, 3 years
Which OSCAR food do you feed your pet?
OSCAR Adult Complete for Fred and the cats.
What is your pet's favourite game to play and why?
Fred loves agility because it's fun and he gets to show off! It helps to sharpen his mind and improves his co-ordination.
Tell us a funny tale about your pet
Fred always carries a toy in his mouth, and so I thought nothing of it when one evening (whilst I was engrossed in the T.V.) he placed something on my lap. Without looking I went to hand it back to him but it felt warm, heavy and furry!! OMG it wasn't a toy but a rabbit which the cat had caught and brought home to Fred.
If you could be any pet, what would you be and why?
I would like to be one of my cats because they live a 'life of Riley', pleasing themselves with what they do, day and night. Sleep when they like, play when they like, eat what they like etc.
