OSCAR Pet Foods Huddersfield

Hello. I’m Val, your local OSCAR Nutritional Advisor covering Huddersfield and some adjacent areas such as Holmfirth, Brighouse and Mirfield, with the help of my husband, Paul.

Paul is Holmfirth born and bred, but I came here in the 1970s. Does over 40 years allow me to claim that I’m a Yorkshire lass? I certainly feel at home here in this warm Yorkshire community.

As pet owners throughout our lives of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils, our household is currently ruled by an opinionated black and white cat called Poggin. We love her to bits, and she condescends to live with us and purr a lot.

After decades of working up the ladder as a management accountant, mainly in the public sector, redundancy caused me to re-assess. While considering my options and working as a temp for the Council, I saw a post on the intranet regarding an OSCAR Pet Foods franchise for sale. Umm, I thought, sounds like just the sort of thing I’m looking for: getting to know all sort of pets and helping their owners, getting out and about on my own terms, and not being office-bound.

So it was pure serendipity that led me to discover an OSCAR franchise and I was immediately hooked by the quality of OSCAR food and the way the honest, caring ethos permeated the company.

Now I’m a Pet Nutritional Advisor, I enjoy helping pet owners find the right food for their dogs and cats; not forgetting their rabbits and guinea pigs too. It’s so rewarding when you help a pet lose weight, overcome skin problems, or simply improve their everyday life. Hyper-activity, diarrhoea, constipation and the like can all be alleviated with the right diet. And the range of delicious and healthful OSCAR foods make it all easy to do.

I’ve discovered lots of hidden corners of our beautiful Yorkshire countryside while driving around delivering pet food. Many of my pet owners love the free and timely home delivery service, especially if they live in picturesque but rather inaccessible areas.

From puppyhood through to senior years, I can take time to understand your pet and support you with a friendly, caring service. And that means a lot to me.

Val is qualified in animal nutrition to CertCAN (QCF Level 3).
